Old Lags Network (OLN) is a peer-led support network built by people with lived experience of the criminal justice system, for people currently in custody and those leaving it.
Who We Are
We exist to bridge the gap between prison and the community — the point where most people fall through the cracks.
OLN focuses on practical, real-world support, early intervention, and long-term mentoring to help people resettle, comply, and rebuild stable lives. Our work benefits not only individuals, but families, victims, and wider communities by reducing reoffending and improving public safety.

What We Do
OLN provides practical, peer-led support for people in custody and those leaving prison — focused on stability, compliance, and long-term change.
We work at the most critical points: before release, on release day, and in the weeks and months that follow. Our support is built around real-world needs — not tick-boxes — and delivered by people who understand the system first-hand.
From release-day projects like the Departure Lounge to ongoing mentoring, advocacy, and partnership working, everything we do is designed to reduce risk, prevent recall, and help people rebuild with dignity.
